Investing in Safety Success
Safety isn’t just a priority—it’s a promise. We’re committed to protecting the health and well-being of our team both on and off the job site. We invest in safety personnel so every project has the support needed. We're actively pushing to advance construction safety industry-wide, raising standards for everyone.
We Listen to the Field
Involving our field teams in shaping safety policies is key to creating safer work environments. Their direct input helps improve protocols and boosts engagement, as they see their feedback result in real change. This collaboration fosters ownership, trust, and better compliance—leading to a stronger, safer workforce.
Empowering Safety Excellence at Every Level
Our field leaders are the frontline safety supervisors, and every team member is part of our success. We require individual accountability, adherence to all VECA safety standards, and participation and support in the advancement of our safety program to create a work environment free of hazards for all. Any VECA team member who may potentially be exposed to energized electrical equipment is required to have current NFPA 70e training.

Ongoing Rigor
We bring a structured approach to safety:
- Best Practices: Engaging safety professionals in preconstruction, integrating safety in field team onboarding, electrical method of procedure, investment in training
- Weekly Practices: Toolbox meetings, safety audits using in-house Xalt database program
- Daily Practices: Pre-work stretching, Job Hazard Analyses, tool control and cleanup
- In the Moment: Whenever there is an incident or near miss on a project, we produce a “Safety Flash” document that highlights what happened, including contributing factors, lessons learned, and ways to prevent future occurrences

VECA Electric’s proactive approach to safety has clearly paid off. VECA Electric utilized Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA), weather monitoring, hazard identification and teamwork to sufficiently mitigate the high hazard work so that there were no incidents or accidents involving this challenging task.
Recognized Success
Until there are zero accidents within our industry, we know our work to improve safety for our teams is unfinished. Our achievements in safety are a testament to our top-down commitment of continuous improvement and acknowledge the efforts our project teams and safety professionals put forth every day.
