Elementary School with State-of-the-art Classroom Lights
The new two-story, 82,000 SF elementary school provides 26 classrooms, a library, gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen, administrative office space, and a special needs Life Skills program.
Being the first new build in over 30 years for this school district, VECA was actively involved during preconstruction to help guide specification and constructability efforts. Lighting was a critical component to this project, featuring state-of-the-art classroom lights that respond to outside weather conditions, have an auto shut-off for outlets after hours, and can regulate building temperature via an iPad. Located in a dense forested area, the school offers an outdoor play area with stunning unobstructed views of Mount Baker. The school accommodates 618 K-5 students and was constructed with adherence to WSSP standards.
