Transformative Care Designed Around the Patient-Family Experience
Seattle Children's coverage region (providing pediatric treatment for Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) is the largest in the nation of any children's hospital.

The new 310,000 SF Forest B building welcomes many patient families as they enter campus, and the eight-story diagnostic and treatment facility puts patient care at the center of its design and construction. Facing many challenges inherent with a busy, occupied healthcare campus and severe restraints required flexibility, communication and close coordination with the project team. Forest B includes eight new operating rooms, 20 new patient beds, outpatient and clinical space for the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center (CBDC), two new catheterization labs, 3T MRI machines, an outpatient infusion center, pharmacies, labs and support spaces, and even a new rooftop helipad for emergency access.

VECA Technologies scope included the installation of CAT6A cabling along with fiber/copper backbone and multiple IDF/E-IDF buildouts, and horizontal telecommunications cabling over the entire 8-Story facility.
