Modernized Learning with a Student-First Experience
In addition to offering curricular and project space, this new building will serve as an inclusive home for students to gather, study, collaborate and empower each other as future innovators, creators and entrepreneurs.

Situated within the active, occupied University of Washington's Seattle campus, the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building (IEB) provides 72,000 SF of modern, hands-on learning and flexible instructional space to support both current and incoming students from across the ten College of Engineering academic units. It is used primarily by undergraduate students and provides collaboration and innovation space for over 950 students. This project is part of a 10-year plan to increase capacity to meet the ever-growing demand for the College of Engineering. Four smaller buildings were demolished prior to construction. Primary electrical scope includes 13.8kV and 4.16kV medium voltage distribution and unit substations, as well as complete electrical distribution along with data, security, fire alarm and first responders DAS radio system.
