First Project of Its Kind to Follow the Port’s Sustainable Evaluation Framework
Vertical expansion of the C Concourse adding four new floors, including an Alaska Airlines lounge, dining and retail, amenities, and office spaces.

The C1 building is an existing three-story building located between C and D Concourses, with the expansion increasing the size of C Concourse from 80,000 square feet to 231,000 square feet. Limited land and facility constraints required a creative solution by expanding vertically to meet current unmet demand for both passenger and tenant needs. All work is being completed in and around a fully operating facility. Primary scope is constructing the four additional floors on top of the existing building and expanding the C3 Hold Room to accommodate additional passenger seating. Additional scope includes redeveloping the existing concourse level space into a public-facing destination featuring airport dining, retail and core facilities like restrooms and public circulation.

The project requires reconfigurations, including relocating the OSR and TSA and moving existing utilities to facilitate structural demolition. VECA’s scope includes project-wide electrical and temporary power systems. We are collaborating with the entire team on the significant logical complexities of working around an operating airfield.
