Critical Infrastructure for Convention Center Expansion
One of several make ready projects for the Summit building construction.

This complex relocation of the existing sub station was necessary to both free up needed space and provide permanent  power to the expansion project sooner. The entire bus routing and transportation loop was also modified along with moving the substation. The nearly Traction Powered Sub Station (TPSS) was constructed in the existing Metro tunnel and provides electricity for King County Metro and Sound Transit operations. Scope for installing the a new TPSS included constructing a TPSS base pad and new vaults as required for utilities, and installing related utilities and connections to existing vaults.
