Captivating Exhibit Showcasing Conservation and Preservation Efforts
This immersive forest exhibit, currently under construction at the Woodland Park Zoo, will become a state-of-the-art home for forest icons like red pandas.

On the elevated Canopy Path, visitors will experience the treetops from the perspective of the resident tree kangaroos and red pandas. Guests can walk down a fully accessible path toward the pavilion building, a 12,000 SF, two-story interactive and multi-sensory exhibit which will house habitats featuring kea parrots. The structure resides on one acre of grounds and natural habitat. The lower level will include habitats for tree-dwelling reptiles, colorful amphibians, fish and invertebrates in mixed-species groups.

The exhibit is targeting LEED Gold certification with sustainable features such as mass plywood, a PV roof array, and an onsite stormwater management system. The exposed timber design showcases the beauty of natural materials, and requires precise routing of electrical and low voltage systems, including a unique roof assembly that helps hide conduit from sight.
